I looked up the definition of shithole and it said, “an overpriced mexican restaurant in los angeles named Lucys El Adobe Cafe that serves a margarita that taste like gatorade, mushy ground beef tacos that taste like Bhole, and stale chips. Your standard dinner plate here will run you about $18. With that you will receive impressively shitty service and a STAMP on your credit card receipt that says cash tips only. “  this place must be a joke. When’s the last time you went to a mexican restaurant, opened a menu, and saw $18 , $19, and $20 prices for your standard enchiladas or tacos with rice and beans. No wonder they have sooo many bad reviews on Yelp.  Even the yummy, high-end  Javiers doesnt charge that much. After just a few minutes of scrolling through other reviews of Lucys I found these quotes.

Quotes

“Absolutely criminal. Do NOT patronize.”

“Can I give this palce a 0???”

“How the heck two enchladas, a taco and two margaritas all ala carte came to $50 is beyond me.”

“This place sucks many, many dicks.”

“They might as well put a gun to your head with their prices for lousy food and weak margaritas. Has to be one of the worst Mexican joints in LA.”

“I ordered two Bean, Cheese, and Rice burritos.  $21.50″

“i was really really disappointed, almost angry at this rip off.”

“Nachos, cheese enchilada, a taco and one diet coke later cost over 30 dollars.”

Lucy’s, you are a cheap, rigged, butt pirates and I have no problem saying that. I read on City Search that this place will bend you over and rig your receipt while you aren’t looking and try to screw you. Well yup, that happened. Two $7.50 margaritas are $19? Nice Addition. I cant believe that you can actually go in here knowing that there is a good probability that they’ll try and rip you off on purpose with one of those hand written receipts that doesn’t list what you ordered and just has a price at the bottom. Go to petco, buy some worms and crickets, mix them with refried beans and then call that meat. Then put it in a taco shell. Yup thats what a lucys tacos taste like. I 100% guarantee that on any given night, at any given time, your experience here will blow and you’ll want to dine and ditch because you felt so violated.
