Larchmont Village

OK. So for our FIRST EVER “Featured Hot Spot” (and our first post written together), I think we picked a pretty damn good place to kick it off. And the manager had some serious balls to call upon us not knowing how we’d rate it. If you haven’t been over to Larchmont Village recently then you are probably due for a visit. If you have no idea where or what Larchmont Village is, then please educate yourself and come back to read this post…And watch this video before you carry on.

The Larchmont Bungalow has it all. Great food, great coffee, great people, great location, great interior and most importantly great food, oh wait, we already said that. The food at this bakery/cozy living roomesque hot spot is Awesome. We went back and forth on how we felt about the food and ultimately came up with an 8, and 8 being YUMMMMY! The lobster we had was so fresh, cooked great and came with a very unique far east flavor. The sea bass was a 10. Hands down the most raging piece of sea bass you will find under 20 dollars, and could be the best piece you find in LA…. This dish comes with a great mango, cucumber and papaya salad and a fresh rice (similar to a fried rice) which were both amazingg. The seafood breakfast crepe was also top notch. A Crepe stuffed with lobster, shrimp, spinach, scrambled eggs, and roasted peppers topped with tarragon hollandaise. Wow this bad boy was killer! The yummiest breakfast dish we’ve have had in a long time!

Wow Factor – The Sea Bass

The breakfast at Larchmont Bungalow is really filling, especially the oh so famous “Red Velvet Pancakes”. Ok, these are very sweet and tasty, but we do NOT recommend ordering them for just yourself. They are veryyyyyyyy filling. This is a great dish to share with 4 people around the table after your meal. Now the only thing to us that kept the Larchmont Bungalow’s overall food rating shy of a 9 or 10 (which is next to impossible to get) were the omelet “sliders”. We were served both the fajita omelet and the pastrami omelet. Although popular, we weren’t jumpin up and down. The pastrami omelet was better then the fajita although we found it to be a bit dry. Throw some melted swiss in there! Not to worry, you can order any two of their signature omelets if you get the omelet sliders. What a raging concept! In our opinion the best omelet at the Larchmont Bungalow is the Cobb omelet. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yummmm.

Besides the epic food, the biggest things we want to stress here are the raging prices and the community feel. If you can tell us one other spot in So Cal where we can get a huge piece of sea bass that is ridiculously good for 17.95 we will give you a raging cookie….Oh wait, and a $21 fresh, whole Maine lobster. Anywhere else, you’d have to double those prices to get what we ate and it probably wouldn’t be as good. In a sense, you get the feeling that the LB has set out to accommodate the community. With an at home feel, killer prices, and a down to earth ambiance, the Bungalow gives off a “we’re here for you” attitude… which is hard to find these days. So take your taste buds on over to the Larchmont Bungalow anytime of the week. We guarantee they’ll be raging with every bite.
