Culver City
“The only thing better than a Tito’s Taco is Two!!” If you have seen that commercial then you know how catchy, and annoying it can get, but none-the-less the statement is true. Tito’s Tacos, which started in 1959 is a landmark for the Los Angeles Taco Culture. Its located right off the 405 freeway in Culver City on Washington Place and there is always, always a line. Not a long line, but their will be 20 people minimum eating at this spot. Even on Labor Day at 10:00am, which is when I indulged in 3 delicious hard shell beef tacos with extra cheddar cheese to help calm my unbelievably disgusting hangover from a post “I think I am still in college” binger of a weekend. Yes, they helped.
WOW FACTOR: $1.70 Homemade TACO Flavored Kisses
These tacos come with a homemade hard shell corn tortilla shell stuffed with shredded beef, grated cheddar cheese and sliced fresh iceberg lettuce. They give you a side of fresh salsa that I pour all over the taco. It is a very watery based salsa because it is chopped up so small that it makes the taco Juiccccccyyyy. I definitely recommend using the salsa. It is a simple california taco that doesn’t take a lot of ingredients or long time to push out there pick up window, but the idea of walking up and ordering 8 beef tacos which come in a brown In and Out box and eating them on a grimy picnic table is just epic. I love good food that comes from unknown, run down places and Tito’s is right up my alley.

I am not a taco fan and anyone who knows me has probably never seen me order a taco from anywhere, but this is the one place I would order one from. I’ll trade in my burrito any day for a Titos Taco.
